Using the right amount of product in your pond is important. Here are some simple formulas to estimate the amount of water that is in your pond so you can treat correctly.

Ponds Volume (in gallons)

Square or Rectangle:
Length x Width x Average Depth x 7.48 = Gallons

Circle:
3.14 x Radius x Radius x Average Depth x 7.48 = Gallons

Irregular Shape:
Average Length x Average Width x Average Depth x 7.48 = Gallons

If you have an irregular shape pond, you can also divide the pond up into separate sections that are simpler to calculate. For example, a kidney-shaped pond could resemble two circles pushed together. Make the calculations and add them up to get the total number of gallons of water in the pond.

It is best to err on the low side so that you do not over-treat the body of water.
